Silver Hotel of the Year 2011
St Michael’s Hotel & Spa has added to its collection of awards after winning Silver in the category of Best Large Hotel at the annual Cornwall Tourism Award, which took place on 9 November 2011.
St Michael’s Hotel & Spa has been shortlisted for an award every year since the Cornwall Tourism Awards launched 10 years ago. Winning SIlver is particularly special for Hotel Proprietor Nigel Carpenter, he said, “We are soon to celebrate our tenth year at St Michael’s. During this time we have invested more than £4million in to the hotel so winning Silver for best large hotel in Cornwall this year shows that we are still delivering great service.“We are always looking at ways to improve what we do at St Michael’s. We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted for an award every year and our win this year is particularly special as it shows our guests and industry professionals recognise the effort the whole team put in to creating the perfect hotel experience.”

St Michael’s Hotel & Spa lived up to its new four-star status by scooping no less than three coveted titles at the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2009.
Winning Hotel of the Year - Gold, Tourism Website of the Year - Gold, and overall Winner of Winners.
Nigel Carpenter, Proprietor said: “The Cornwall Tourism Awards are important to St Michael's Hotel & Spa because they recognise achievement and encourage us to get better each year. Winning these awards is a fantastic recognition that we are one of the best in the county."
The hotel also won Silver Hotel of the Year at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2009. Nigel said: “We strive to be one of the best hotels in the South West and to win an award at the Excellence ceremony is a fantastic achievement for all the staff at the hotel.”
