St Michael's Goes Green...
St Michael's is delighted to have been awarded Gold status from the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) for our environmental and sustainability policy and practices. Over the past 18 months we have invested over £80,000 in making changes to ensure we reduce our environmental impact and support local infrastructure.
Nigel Carpenter, proprietor of St Michael's, says "To be recognised for our green efforts is fantastic. We are planning on integrating more environmentally friendly policies and practices over the coming year, that not only reduce the impact that we and our guests have on the environment, but that make the St Michael's Hotel an even better place to stay."
Silver Win at Cornwall Tourism Awards
St Michael’s Hotel & Spa has added to its collection of awards after winning Silver in the category of Best Large Hotel at the annual Cornwall Tourism Awards, which took place on 9 November 2011.
St Michael’s Hotel & Spa has been shortlisted for an award every year since the Cornwall Tourism Awards launched 10 years ago.
Winning Silver is particularly special for Hotel Proprietor Nigel Carpenter, he said, “We are soon to celebrate our tenth year at St Michael’s. During this time we have invested more than £4million in to the hotel so winning Silver for best large hotel in Cornwall this year shows that we are still delivering great service.
New General Manager
We’re pleased to announce that we’ve welcomed on board hotel industry expert, Ivan Curtis, as our new General Manager. With over
32 years’ experience we’re looking forward to him inspiring and motivating the team to make St Michael’s an even more enjoyable place to visit.
Ivan says, “I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to direct and develop a very talented team to further build St Michael’s Hotel reputation as one of the best hotels in the South West.”
