Fal River Festival
Sinuous. Scenic. Sparkling. The Fal River is a huge focus of life here providing everything from food on our plates to fun in the sun. So it's only fitting that once a year a huge festival celebrates all things Fal.
150 events with everything from music and drama, the arts and heritage to gig racing, wild swimming and walking take place over 10 exciting days. Join in with community life on the river this spring and discover why we love it so much. Embrace the history, culture, food, places and people whilst exploring dozens of locations around the Fal River, the festival offers something for everyone and is the perfect opportunity to engage with life on the river and discover some of its fascinating history.
Each year more than 100,000 people attend a range of different events, helping raise a whopping £75,000 for charity while enjoying 3,000 pints and bucket loads of seafood!
Events lined up for 2015 include the Fal River Walk, Castle to Castle Swim, Fal Fish Festival, the award-winning Film on the Ferry and the opening Beer Fleet Parade.
Anna Druce, creative director of the festival, said: “Everything is tied to the river and how it shapes our lives – creatively and physically. The Fal River defines the landscape and how we travel, it inspires our artists, helps shape our food culture and motivates us to live active, outdoor lives. The festival is our way of celebrating all of that.”
