City of Lights
Wrapped in warm scarves. Hot chocolate clutched tightly. Faces lit up.
Every year this magical midwinter festival heralds the start of the festive season for us. Local school kids have worked for weeks using paper and willow to create huge lanterns to a theme, last year it was Heroes, inspired by the WW1 centenary. Lit by candle light they parade through the streets of Truro along with bands and dancers and wow the crowds with their creativity. After the parade the towns Christmas lights are officialy switched on and there is the first late night shopping. So wrap up warm and get your festive groove on.
