Alfresco lunches with our new menus
Summer days are made for basking on our terrace. We love kicking back with a cocktail or two as we savour dishes from our new lunch menus, now served every Monday to Saturday from midday until 2.30pm. It changes on a weekly basis to ensure that each dish uses the finest and freshest local produce, with an emphasis on seasonal and simple. Two courses are £12.50 / Three courses are £15.
Our Head Chef said: “Our kitchen brigade are digging deep each week to create these summery menus, so that our guests can enjoy their lunch at a reasonable price whilst enjoying St Michaels’ consistent quality.
Expect our usual quirks and twists – from tarragon ketchup and salted caramel, to black pudding fritters and baby beets fresh from Cornwall’s fields. And when we say our ingredients are fresh, we mean caught or foraged every morning. Just down the coast.”
Since launching these menus, our courses have included chicken liver parfait with orange chutney and hazelnut toasts to start, followed by confit pork belly with mustard mash and apples, then finished with peanut butter parfait, chocolate sorbet, bananas and honeycomb. Bliss.
Of course, we wouldn’t be The Flying Fish without an ample selection of fish. There will be a rotation of light summer dishes, including grilled mackerel, roasted whiting fillets with mussel broth, and smoked haddock.
