Romantic Spots Cornwall

Romantic Spots in Cornwall

It’s that time of year again; red and pink cards and roses are overflowing the shops and love is in the air. If your planning on getting away this Valentines day (or just want something slightly different to do) read on for our top places to go this romantic season in Cornwall.

Lizard Point

Lizard point

If wild seas and windswept walks are your idea of a romantic day out then look no further than the most southerly point in the UK. Here you can lose yourself in the wild romance of the cliffs, explore the distinctive twin tower lighthouse or hunker down in the Witchball pub with a pint.

Chintz Falmouth

This newly opened wine and cheese bar has all the ingredients for a romantic night out in Falmouth. With secret rooms and small, intimate, tables and candle-lit spaces the atmosphere is perfect. That’s before the exciting mix of cocktails and piano jams that frequently occur. If you’re feeling a bit cheeky why not get hitched at their ‘Auto Wed’; a slightly tacky, very funny, wedding vending machine.

Tintagel

Bathed in Myth and legend this historic site on the north coast is linked to the story of King Arthur, fairies and Merlin.  Explore hidden caves, ruined castles and stone carvings, feel the magic and spend an afternoon immersed in history.

Porthcurno

If you’re a fan of the new Poldark series then this is the spot for you. A soft, sandy beach set below the famous Minack Theatre it was used as the location for Nampara Cove in Poldark. Follow in the footsteps of Ross and Demelza, when they walked across the beach in the dream sequence of episode two.

St Just in Roseland Church

On the beautiful Roseland Peninsula just across the Carrick Roads from Falmouth, the best way to reach this beautiful spot is across on the ferry. Take the King Harry Ferry if you want to explore in the car, or the passenger ferry from Falmouth to St Mawes if you’re up for a walk. Hidden down a small road this 13th Century church is set in subtropical gardens. And for £3 an hour you can pay for the church to be floodlit in an evening, the perfect spot for a romantic night.

The Hidden Hut, Porthcurnick

Quite literally a hidden gem on the Cornish coast path this small café is not to be underestimated. The food here is divine and all locally sourced ensuring you get the freshest produce available. Either stop for a spot of lunch or take away for a picnic to remember on the beach below.
