London 100 Mile Prudential Ride: Chris, Ryan and Stephan’s Progress
We love seeing our members participating in fitness events, especially for such a great cause supporting Breast Cancer Now. Have a read of our post to keep up with Chris, Ryan and Stephan's progress while training for the London 100 Mile Prudential Ride.
A shout out to our members Chris Wood, Ryan Kitchener and Stefan Churcher for entering the London 100 mile Prudential Ride this July to raise money for Breast Cancer Now and representing Falmouth’s Pink Wig Team. With a hard and strict training schedule, they are attending our spin classes 3 times a week in addition to further strength work in the gym!
Here’s an update from Chris on their training progress so far…
“We haven’t been blessed with the most amazing riding conditions of late. It’s like someone is trying to stop us getting out on the road. More snow than we’ve seen in nearly 30 years, and the wettest, coldest winter we have had for a long time. We are approaching the warmer months. Now into the beginning of April there is a sense of spring in the air. That means, lighter mornings and longer evenings and more opportunity to cycle. The cycling has been tough so far, and in all honesty, not that fun.
However, with the use of St Michaels Spin classes with Steve Owen, we have been able to keep the legs going around. Steve has also set us up for a few sessions in the spin class room when it has been empty, although having a full class certainly drives you on to perform more. We will be picking up our endurance on the road but maintaining our strength in the gym with our core and leg programme put together by Steve. As far as raising money is concerned, we have been overwhelmed with the support we have received. This is another reason why we will be crossing that finish line at mile 100. We will continue to log updates of our training.”

GOOD LUCK GUYS, putting spinning to a great cause!
