Vegetables, Salad and Fruit
If you take a boat trip along the River Fal, look above Mylor to the sun warmed south facing fields and you’ll see where Pete Lawrence grows some of our delicious seasonal veggies.
Pete runs Canara Farm where he grows tasty organic heirloom tomatoes, baby carrots, peas, beans and pretty things like edible nasturtiums and borage. His innovative produce gives our chefs inspiration and the ability to produce seasonal dishes.
Next door the Lizard Leaves farm produce the freshest, organic salad leaves – perfect in a Cornish crab salad. With an army of local growers, Westcountry supply us with most things fresh from Cornish and English fields, but of course some things need to come further afield – figs, lemons, peaches and bananas all need to be imported. They come straight to us from the famous Rungis Marche in Paris. The freshest and best pick of the market is delivered to our kitchen door before being cooked into tasty treats for your plate.
