Like Falmouth’s main focus of sailing, it's the journey we enjoy at St Michaels Hotel & Spa, and not the getting there. For we can never arrive at our destination – 100% perfection – because that would be impossible. Instead, we strive to edge ever closer. We can see what it looks like, we can touch it and feel it. It's the journey we enjoy and that which we are committed to. Our dream and vision started 13 years ago. And it hasn’t really altered.
“An absolutely unswerving, passionate and single minded determination to create the best leisure hotel in Cornwall. Our unchanging vision is to create a stylish and uplifting hotel which builds on the uniqueness of its location, environment and culture, and enhances it with high quality, indulgent services such as spa, cuisine and gardens which make the most of their Cornish distinctiveness.” Nigel Carpenter.
We aim to achieve our goals sustainably so that St Michael’s has a long future. We do our best to minimise our carbon footprint and always seek to use local producers, craftsmen and suppliers. St Michael’s is at the heart of the local community. We support local charities and festivals including being the main sponsor of Falmouth Oyster Festival.
We’ve invested heavily to achieve our aims – not without substantial risk – but so far our risk has been rewarded. Since having the honour of winning Hotel of the Year – Bronze at the Cornwall Tourism Awards in 2014, we’ve re-doubled our efforts to raise standards and grow further.
Our plans for the future are exciting and ambitious. The new St Michael’s Spa Resort will commence at the end of the year and is set to be the largest investment in tourism related infrastructure in Cornwall for over a decade. It will dramatically improve the existing facilities further and create a spectacular, iconic, new building on the sea front.
