The Best Cornwall Food Festivals to Remember

Food

Home to the humble pasty and the superior Cornish Cream Tea (jam first), Cornwall is already known to have some incredible local dishes and desserts that are loved by all who visit.

But whilst we have our year-round staples, spring brings with it the chance to try new foods and delicacies as the first of the Cornish food festivals arrive. Wander the stalls and trucks as you try delicious samples, find your new favourite foods and enjoy the local views with friends.

With food festival season upon us, we have found our favourite food festivals that you need to remember to visit in Cornwall this year!

Porthleven Food Festival
Porthleven Food Festival

An award-winning food festival with outstanding views, Porthleven Food Festival is the perfect day out for foodies everywhere!

Founded by local restaurant owners and showcasing local chefs in the main tent, this food festival spans most of the harbour town of Porthleven.

Explore a wide selection of local produce, food trucks, tasters and live music, all within view of the iconic Cornish Harbour, at one of our favourite food festivals of the year!

Falmouth Food Festival
Falmouth Food Festival

Relatively new to the food festival scene, Falmouth Food Festival is back for another year of exceptional flavours and local talent, right in the heart of the town!

Stroll through one of Falmouth’s car parks with harbour views, and find it transformed into food heaven. Scent local pizzerias as they set up shop in a new location for the week, grab freshly caught seafood just paces away from where it was found earlier that day, all whilst listening to the dulcet tones of local musicians and entertainers filling the festival with sound.

Within walking distance of local eateries, pubs and beaches, this is the perfect time to visit the area and find out what Falmouth is all about.

Cornwall Street Food Festival
Cornwall Street Food Festival

Now is the time to explore different cuisines as the Cornwall Street Food Festival makes it back for another year over in Newquay. Hosting a wide variety of street food retailers, enjoy a wide variety of foods, from Mexican to American, Italian to Cornish, there will be something there for every palate.

You have four days to find your favourite flavour, and there are plenty to choose from, all whilst listening to live music or the evening's entertainment. What better way to spend the bank holiday weekend?

Rock Oyster Festival
Rock Oyster Festival

Rock Oyster Festival takes the entertainment side of the food festival seriously, with big bands and sought-after artists gracing the stage as you tuck into some truly delicious grub!

Head down to the Chef Tipis and check out a range of chefs from different backgrounds as they demonstrate how to create their favourite dishes from around the world. Check out the main stage to listen to music from well-known musicians, or head to the wellness area for workshops and treatments that will leave you feeling good again. All whilst stopping to sample delicious foods, specifically the fresh oysters available to you throughout the day!

St Ives Food & Drink Festival
St Ives Food & Drink Festival

Set up in one of Cornwall’s most popular beachside towns, the St Ives Food and Drinks Festival is always a good time. With views across one of the many beautiful, sandy beaches of St Ives, this festival highlights chef discussions and demonstrations from local chefs, alongside local acts rocking out across Porthminster.

Providing a wide variety of Cornish foods and beverages, this is the perfect place to sample local wares and produce whilst supporting Cornish businesses and having a grand time on the beach! The ideal day out in our opinion!

Falmouth Oyster Festival
Falmouth Oyster Festival

Falmouth Oyster Festival is one we look forward to year after year, with a huge array of oysters and street food on offer throughout Falmouth for a delicious few days of revelry.

Watch as fresh oysters are brought in and shucked before your eyes, enjoy local tipples or join in with a shucking challenge yourself!

Relax at the oyster bar, listen to chef demos, join in with the fun and games or sit back and listen to Cornish musicians as they fill the main tent with sea shanty music and other Cornish gems.

Not to be missed, this one may actually be our favourite…
